DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN FIREWOOD!

Having a campfire is a big part of the entire camping experience. However the transportation of firewood has contributed to the spread of invasive species in our area. Do to the devastation caused by the Asian Longhorned Beetle and the Emerald Ash Borer; we are complying with the requests from the Mass DEP and the USDA by restricting the transportation of firewood into and out of the campground.

Beginning with the 2011 camping season, transportation of firewood into or out of Sunsetview Farm Camping Area must be prohibited. Firewood is available for sale at the campground for a reasonable fee. Remember to buy only what you need for your stay.

Our Seasonal guests, (campers who spend the entire season with us), are allowed to bring in firewood as long as they provide documentation in advance showing the wood was obtained from a local green-certified sustainable forest grower, and not within a restricted area. Seasonal campers are encouraged to contact us with any questions regarding this matter.

Your cooperation and understanding is greatly needed and appreciated at this difficult time for our area forests. Once a forest is infested, eradication of an invasive pest can involve devastating measures.
